Like I said before, the main problem with block terrain is that no one has had the need to make an addon or find a method that creates efficient block terrain that doesn't look like stuff. Necessity is the mother of invention.
block terrain is best done by hand (or a block terrain editor with brushes :O). the only problem is getting to efficient on a large scale. would require floating brick support like many of the terrain to build mods try to use.
