On non-ordnance they are a rapetrain with no brakes. * How come so many people don't base their minis? It's easy and makes them look good, just slap some plasticard or greenstuff on their feet to keep them from looking like they're sinking.laziness * How come so many people like CSM/Chaos in general? 2edgy4u * Why do so many people play Space Marines? I mean, they're basically wh40k's mascots, but even then there's so many other armies with different playstyles and model aesthetics that I kinda find it confusing as to why everyone wants to play the Spehss Muhrehnss.Space marines are a basic army that don't require a lot of skill and are very forgiving on tactical mistakes. Due to their basic infantry being pretty damn strong on their own, space marines are a bestseller and heavily popular. Fun fact: when Jeremy Vetock first joined GW he saw the annual sales of space marines and thought that it was a front for illegal drug sales. Leman Russes are steep but probably the best tank in the entire game. I recommend three. If you don't want to get russes, hellhounds and their variants are excellent as well, albeit with thin as forget armor. Scout sentinels are better than armored sentinels in that they can outflank and potentially snipe an expensive enemy HQ or tank unit and ruin their day, but are guaranteed to die with AV10 on all sides and open topped. Infantry platoons are glorious in that they can be used to do just about everything. Heavy weapon teams are seriously one of the best options IG has for anti-tank. Three lascannons which can twin-link will hit at least twice (once against flyers) and have a good chance to at least glance most things. Stormtroopers LOOK cool, but with 6e changing rapid-fire rules they are suddenly the worst elite option in the game. 18" rapid fire means that you WILL be assaulted by whatever you shoot at. IG also currently have one of the best flyer options in the game, the vendetta gunship. Three twin-linked lascannons means that against flyers or tanks, this plane will ruin somebodys day. |

If I'm going to play space marines I might as well play it as an all around force. Which it's good at. |

I have a small space marine army as an allied detachment. |
