Futuristic building tips

I want to be able to build sci-fi/futuristic stuff. Any tips?

and some other brick add-ons, and probably a few weapon and vehicle add-ons.

I'm talking about actual building. I have a ton of vehicles.

OT: You can make amazing things with all the default bricks and some custom brickpacks, you don't necessarily need really specialized bricks unless they're actually require to properly build it, ie. You can't build a tree on modular terrain bricks. In that cause you would have to use regular bricks.
