I don't see any reasoning in this other than presentations. Also it's not that hard to make music files...

I suppose it could be used if the host wanted to show something to the server that otherwise would need a link. I know I barely ever click links in a server.

Clicking a link would be about as safe as showing you the website ingame, sans the download links and popups that you can ignore.
