Most likely. The pressure and heat caused by the boost makes the gas ignite when it's not supposed to. Higher octane gas doesn't ignite as easily, so less knocking.

Knocking can be really bad for an engine if you let it go on.
Of course having a turbo on that engine is bad enough on its own.

The mercedes gets about 40 MPG. It's got a v6 in it, 5 speed transmission on the floor, Something like 350 Horsepower, and it burns that super unleaded fuel, that special gas. Too bad the gas stations in maryville, that super unleaded stuff is just water. :/

That must suck. :/ I love driving and all but the test is what I would be really nervous for. I'm sure, but I say this now, and by the time I take my license test, I'll probably be more familiar with driving in town.

My town I'm in is infested with cops so I can't learn here so I was taught out in the middle of nowhere.

We got about 2 acres of pasture, I mainly drive around in it, and that's how I learned. When I learned stick shift, My dad let me drive the Mercedes, and I killed it I don't know how many times, but I eventually got used to it and fairly good at it too.
