i have over 1k EASILY for a new player lol.
most ppl say it's worth the wait though. and those who don't think it is still had to wait anyway  :cookieMonster:

If only Blockland's networking was faster...

My guess is that CDN downloads are faster because of an arbitrary limit put in by Badspot so it doesn't eat up all the bandwidth, but it would be nice to at least have the option to disable/raise it on the server side or provide a second CDN to attempt to download from (because, really, downloads from a server with 100mbps upload shouldn't feel like modem speed).

Corbiere:

When I first loaded up the update which introduced the current loading system with the CDN and everything it was considerably slower than what we had before. Okay, it's also better, but whereas you could get onto most servers without any problem simply by unticking everything in the networking options a year ago, you now have to wait out hundreds of tiny files.

So yeah, unless there are a lot of players on the server, I know the server is worth it, or I just have nothing better to do I don't wait out the loading.

Bisjac:

cant RTB assist in giving us addons (that at least are on rtb) when joining a server?
that could free up tons of upload from the host.

ShadowZero:

I join a server with 2k files in less than 30 minutes thanks to Verizon FiOS.
People need to stop complaining about the server load because its not the hosts fault, its the person connecting for having slow dsl internet.
