I find this highly unlikely. Putting the server back up, I'm going to assume it was a DayZ glitch that caused the crash.

Still doesnt mean you should just take them and act like its completely ok :s
That and I dont really see the point if you literally can't get ammo for it, short of hacking it into the game.
