Author Topic: Single player games with really unique elements to them  (Read 1128 times)

I'm bored. I'm bored of the constant hum of boring, uninteresting games that are released every year. I remember when games were like Jak II and Shadow of the Colossus. Surely, I'm just missing them? But it feels like games have gotten very bland recently.

If anyone can recommend to me some games with really unique points to them. I see real promise in some of the recent indie games that have come out.

I don't know if this qualifies but recently I've been playing Thief 2, it's really difficult and fun, you might be interested.

Oh but yeah most games now suck, or are just as good as what we played but we don't have the nostalgia from back then on the new games.

Did that make sense?

No yeah I get what you mean.

Edit: Thief 2 is fun.

It's soooo hard :'c

Receiver's pretty neat. There's also Black Shades and Overgrowth.

Maybe Dungeon Siege?

blockland! for some reason i feel certain things would be much better in bl than they would be in something like gmod, it has that charm to it

Hell, I'd replay SotC a hundred times. I love that game.

The splinter cell series is very unique and pretty fun

what's SotC?

the ratchet and clank games are fun, and skyrim was a memorable game.

More of this please.

Also make this the unique game mechanics thread or something.

Shadow of the Colossus

Silent Hill 2 is pretty good, but there's a lot of aimless wondering and key finding
