Marriage in regards to the state is a document saying two people are partners. There is no legitimate reason that gays should be denied these documents.

Exactly. I can see why some Christians would be against it (even though some sects have interpreted the bible to be more liberal and open minded, especially in regards to homoloveuality). Not allowing it on a government scale is ridiculous.
