I would say it's worse. The creator understands what you are doing and wants you to stop.
You don't even know about it if they steal it.

What you say isn't what everybody says. If hosting without permission could get your key revoked, I wouldn't do it. If I host it in this situation, the only consequence would be pissing people off.
