Anyone think blockland is getting ruined?

Open up join server, click players, scroll all the way down. Look at all the dedicated servers that are password protected. Alright, those have been closed. Slowly scroll up and watch the dedicated servers. Most are still passworded. Keep scrolling up slowly. Note that most are not dedicated, and only have 1-6 players. Keep scrolling up. You should find more dedicated servers near the top. Scroll to the very top. You should see 4 dedicated servers, (preferably the ones I pointed out) at the top. Now, the next day look at the top again. You should (I could be wrong) see the same amount, or more, or less of dedicated servers at the top. It's fine having dedicated servers at the top for a few days. But for weeks or MONTHS (Glass' Trench Wars has been popular for atleast a month now) of being at the top? That's not right.
EDIT: I am trying to point out that people's chances of creating a server that can be famous (Think of some of the old really popular servers. Wicked's City RPG would skyrocket to the top (unless I am wrong, I don't know) if it was hosted again. What if someone creates a server like that? The chance of getting to the top or atleast more well known is reduced from these servers. Now, some of these servers are nice. I admit. Infact, I am playing Tezuni's Jail RP. Mainly because that one is new, and is nice. (playing it now of 11:03 AM Eastern Time United States)

Any Half decent server can fill up without been dedicated.
You neglect that the community is so small this concept of 'new popular server very day' just won't happen. The majority of servers are just generic and unoriginal, and we lack the hosts to make new stuff per day.

They can be closed by the community. But sometimes that doesn't work.

I agree glasses server is utter tosh.
But I still think that if a server is good, it will still become popular

I host a dedicated server and it seems unless I happen to be on the place is empty..
Either way since when was how good a server is rated based on the number of people playing?

I actually agree with you OP everyone goes for the popular servers and never join the creative new servers which makes people not want to host.
