That is how business works. Big companies buy small companies. Some of the games they make/produce a very good.

I can't understand how people hate EA because their games are "rushed" when they all flock to Valve. Valve games look rushed even if they take years and years to make. Nearly every Valve game I have seen looks like it was made 5 years before the time when it was released. And before you guys go wah wah graphics don't make games, the most important thing to do when trying to make anything look like it was done with care it to make it look nice. Basically, Valve is a company that is loved because instead of being efficient and shiny, they take 5 years to spew out their bad-looking games. EA may be an "evil corporation", but they can keep things on a decent timeline and make them look nice.

For some reason I find it kind of hilarious that you're harking over "the important prettiness of graphics" like this on a forum for a game whose engine was, while having been updated several times, the same engine that belonged to the second-oldest Tribes game back in 2001.

This game wasn't made by a medium to large size team of funded developers. Also, in this game there isn't any sort of thing that could actually be broken by bad graphics because things are supposed to be made of squares. In a game where things are supposed to look like people, triangles for biceps can be kind of off putting.
