You run for the jungle, but the sand drops underneath your foot, and you fall on the ground. You see your path get cut of by two 3 ft tall crabs. You back up to be with masterockets.

Oh dang. OK get the heck to the grassy/planty/treey/jungle area right away.
You quickly make a dash for the jungle. You make it in the nick of time. You see Slezak and Jokey about ten feet away.
Notice bird, attempt to imitate call.
You have no perk to do such an action, but you do imitate the call well.
Make friends with bird.
I'm just going to assume you use your Call Bird perk, since that is what this sort of entails..
The bird flies over and lands on your arm. He senses you are good with animals, so he feels comfortable with you. A few seconds later, you hear a rustling coming through the jungle. Suddenly four monkeys emerge into your sight. They look at you, and then smile, with terrible razor sharp teeth.

I would have gone through the forest, since I am close range, so I am with Slezak and Jokey.
