why is this used so often as an excuse for greentexting? the usage of ">" on this forum is never used for any other reason than to reference 4chan, and pretending you're referencing Ye Olde Internet is just being in denial, because it's literally not relevant in any situation. especially the format of mocking something with a ">" preceding it, instead of actually using it as a quoting tool (by the way, we literally have one built in. yet another reason it's irrelevant).
in short it's still memetext, even if you post that image as an excuse.

it's a stuffty way of writing, but it's probably the best/easiest way to quote a user doing something. ">kimon getting mad over meme arrows" is a lot quicker than writing out everything that's happened, you know?
