The amulet of Mara is worn by the player only usually when they actually want to get married. It opens up certain dialogues. I suggest you stop wearing it, least you be pestered with marriage requests. They made it go both ways, because, you know, gay people would get mad.

i wore it on purpose i was going to lydia with it on because i was the thane of whiterun and she was my housecarl. and double post
