I've had a couple of budget windows virtual machines as test boxes and they struggled to run BL properly, I could probably save you some pain if you were going for a provider I've already used. |

I'm currently looking at Art of War Central. Supposedly you get unlimited bandwidth for games, although I don't know if that only applies to games on their list. I'm going to run Windows server 2003 on it and get a RAM upgrade as well. I'm getting one month initially so I can monitor system performance and figure out if I need to buy more ram or bandwidth or switch to a new host. I also looked into UCV host. If you have any suggestions I'd be happy to hear them. I plan on running a 32 player server so I'm not sure how much ram I need. Edit: 2 mumble servers, one public (24 slots) and 1 private (8 slots). I expect these to use a trivial amount of resources however. |

Not entirely sure what your budget is so I can't really offer any suggestions, but without a doubt the best place to trawl for offers is WebHostingTalk. Dedicated servers - http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=36 VPS - http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=104 Avoid extreme budget providers like Server4You and BurstNET, they just won't work for you. |

Until I get more details about his hosting service (which doesn't appear to exist yet), I'm going to skip the middleman and experiment with doing it myself. Logmein has some software that will let me remote desktop from my phone or any public computer that I plan on testing out. Thanks. --- End quote --- If you can't find a remote desktop software, Teamviewer works pretty ok for me. |
