This morning he decided to register for a Rasperry Pi for me to tinker with we've both been interested in it for the last few weeks.
He said he'll wants to buy a case/memory card for it as well which is great of him.
If you don't know what a Rasperry Pi is, it's a tiny computer pictured below.

True, they are very cheap and don't have great specs, but that's all made up for by it's size, there are tons of uses for this thing, and what I'm hoping to do is be able to plug it into the family TV and allow people to use the TV as a computer when needed, it would be also be pretty neat to have software to emulate old games on there as well.

It has no memory?  Whaaat?

The memory is on external SD card that doesn't come with the actual computer itself, doofus.

Whatever, how much did it cost?  Sounds interesting.

Look into the Raspberry Pi, it'll make sense.

Its basically a barebones slab of PCB the size of a wallet that can run certain unix systems like Debian. Apparently Ubuntu is too much for it.

Its a fun tech toy and has useful applications in schools, and certain ICT professionals have picked it up to use in place of netbooks or mini-itx for their network systems / junk.

Its a bit overhyped but people are thinking up fun uses for it. Costs like $40 or so, I forget.

My dad could beat up your dad.

Ah.  In that case, I'd rather buy a camera.

How much does it cost and can it run Blockland?

$35 or something around there and probably not

My dad was also thinking about getting one for me.

It has 256mb RAM in the CPU/GPU, but I don't know what that means because in a normal computer, it has a CPU and in general, a way more powerful graphics card than its GPU. My mobo has DX10 and 512mb vRAM, what a piece of stuff.
