Squiddey's brick textures won't work.

So apparently I tried to download some new brick textures. I followed the instructions to install them, and guess what? It didn't work. I found out that the original brick textures were in the shapes folder AFTER I put the new ones in there. So I tried again and again and again. No dice.

So, forums, what is going on and why?

Every time you open Blockland, the launcher rewrites the folders used for resources such as those. Setting the textures you want to add to "read-only" helps, apparently.
