Third Person camera modification to FPS only?
<< < (2/3) > >>
Aide33:
I tried this by adding renderfirstperson = true; to a player type but as port said because the camera stays still you can see your back when you look down
Greek2me:
I tried this a while ago when I was working on making first person spectating but it doesn't work.
Awdax:
I've tried this before, but the problem is the camera rotates around the player's hip or something. Like Port mentioned, when you look down the camera goes through the back. It would have been a really cool way to see your feet, hands and body in "first-person" but sadly it just doesn't work.
Chrono:
The camera doesn't move with the head because then you'd be able to see through walls.

The eyepoint remains where the head would be if you were looking straight, and only rotates rather than moving with the head.
When you crouch, it moves straight down, which is where the pants are.
Port:
It could be done with a custom look.dsq animation that maybe only moves the head, arms and hands/hooks. Since the camera is inside the head, it won't try to render the head for you.
