m4v is for videos, audacity is an audio editor.

Unless I'm mistaken and it now does videos too?

im trying out something i grabbed off cNet called prism video file converter.

after doing some googling on the file type im kinda confused. its apparently the itunes DRM file type.
but this video is not sold on itunes and never was.
do starfishs just use itunes or other apple software to forget up otherwise innocent files?

the samsung tv i have refuses to play certain files off the flash drive i pop in.
it dosnt like mp4 or apple stuff.

yet it takes divx of all things lol. i usually hope for avi

Apple does use DRM protected m4v files on iTunes but the file type also supports non DRM files.

It's been awhile since I used it, but http://handbrake.fr/ worked for me. They changed stuff around and for some reason I can only select m4v and mkv from the drop down menu. I changed the file type to avi in the destination field and the video I tested with was converted to avi and not mkv it seems.

That's what I use to convert FLVs into AVIs. :D

I would recommend using Format Factory. It has a very nice free version and converts from basically any filetype to any filetype. Plus the GUI is decently friendly.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just figured out it actually doesn't do that format, but it still is a very nice converter.
