Why does crouching look like going prone

That doesn't even look like crouching - and you would still be fairly visible. If anything "crouching" should just be referred to as crawling.
Lugnut:
position the right foot behind, so the bottom of the foot is at a 90 degree angle to the floor
then, move the other foot forward to right about where the shoulder is, but still offset from the center the same distance as it is currently
leave the torso pointed as-is
