Author Topic: So I can run bf3, but not the recent shader update?  (Read 1348 times)

As OP says, I can run battlefield 3 on moderate graphics with a steady 45 fps.

Yet, I can't run the shaders update without lag.

Specs of my Laptop:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: AMD E-450 APU with Raedon(tm) HD Graphics (2 CPUs)
Memory: 4096 RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11

Graphics Card: AMD Raedon HD 6320 Graphics
Approx. Total Memory: 1960 MB

Note nothing from Intel.

No shaders: 80-110 FPS. Normal.
Minimum Shaders: 25-35. FPS. Dafuq?
Low Shaders: 16-30 FPS. Huh?
Medium Shaders: 10-20. FPS. What is going on here?
High Shaders: 6-15 FPS. Honestly?

Why is this?

it's a newly-released update
you should expect temporary problems with optimization

This is the FPS I was getting 24 hours ago, when I first downloaded the update.

I'll startup blockland and test now.

EDIT:
Still around the same as in OP.

This can't possibly have to do with my rig, i don't believe.

I didn't mean temporary as in one day

you have a stuffty netbook
it was released yesterday so expect problems
like v20 experienced problems and wasn't fixed for days

if it's not shockingly obvious, you can't game on any laptop, no exceptions.

Glancing over your specs my uneducated opinion is that your CPU is bottlenecking. What's the GHz on it?

you're using integrated video that was meant to play HD video and simple 3D programs lol

Yet i can run bf3?
....What?

1.6GHz

oh lol

bf3 with 1.6GHz? i'd love to see that in action

There may be a turbo boost or something on it (which I doubt). Have you played BF3 yourself?

bf3 on low settings maybe lol

integrated video you shouldnt expect much from

the net says your graphics has no dedicated memory
you say you have 4096 RAM
then say you have vid-memory of 1960 MB

that leaves you a remaining 2136rams after rendering. then bf3 should be using about 1g more.
then them 30 youtube tabs you have open in the background.

you are now -500mb rams
