Also for the XV9 we are contemplating a commander weapon loadout with a powerful blast weapon and a shield generator that has a cooldown. Good idea?

Well, I used one of my Terrain-gen builds and made a few bunkers, player spawns and weapon spawns for a LAN server. (since hosting online doesnt work)
