Author Topic: Hit Notice - Plays sound when you damage someone! [Updated! v1.1]  (Read 6365 times)

BUMP for updates:
I found out what was causing the bugginess of this simple script, so I will upload a new version in a second. Wait up, guys!

What does it sound like? Also an option for using TF2's hit sound would rock if it isn't similat to Q3s.

Isn't the "ouch" emote enough?

Well I was gonna make this but client sided, but never mind.

Mind if I post a modified version of this that uses TF2's sound I think this one does not really sound like a hit sound?

It should be compatible with the Quake 3 version but I highly suggest you don't run them both because everytime you hit someone you'll hear just a mess of sound.

You can pretty much do this yourself.
If the sound is mono, you can basically replace the sound in my .zip with yours.
Otherwise, you need audacity, open the sound you want to replace mine with, press the arrow next to the sound's name and select "Split stereo to Mono".
Delete the second track and export as .wav. Done :D

Oh, also, updated the add-on: now the hitsound is not as loud.

Uuugh. I hate download sites with three separate download buttons..

Edit: Nevermind, Ill pass with this addon. The damn download site makes me jump through hoops just to get the file.

Should be the one on the bottom, others are adds, if its the one I think it is.

The site has one download button. Learn to distinguish from advertisements.

The damn download site makes me jump through hoops just to get the file.

  • Check the "I know the risk and wish to download this file." checkbox (because it's a zip).
  • Click the large green "Download" button.
  • Done, instant download.

Wrong.
Just pick "mix and render". It makes the stereo track into a mono track without losing any of the sound. What you chose to do makes it remove half of the audio.

These ads have no border and all look exactly alike. I only found the correct download button after the non premium timer timed out.

And when I hit that, it brought me to another website with the same stuff. I know it was the right button cause it showed me the file name.. So don't be snarky with me. At that point I said forget it.

Use a better file hosting service, preferably one that has the file up front.

This service has the file "up front". There is no premium timer of any kind. All the elements are next to eachother.
