That's because it's the only classes that can augment vertical motion with their weapons, I would love to see a heavy try to even augment his jump with a minigun.

I followed a tutorial exactly (except it used the conniver's kunai) and can't seem to get it to work

well back a while ago, when the GRU caused damage instead of marking you for death, people would use the damage-per-second to boost their jumps by very little
