Why are you scared? Profit from this! Set up cameras showing the door magically open, then add some scary ambient effects and add lots of bad camera quality things to the video such as video noise, static, skips, etc.

i wouldn't think you'd tape the WHOLE thing shut
just a bunch of strips put together so it wouldn't be too hard to just pull it off partially and stick it back on. granted you'd have to replace it often but it's a nice temporary solution, i think.

We have a door in the house that opens sometimes.

Its because the door is on a very minor lean (so small you can't tell by the naked eye) so if its left open it'll slowly inch open due to gravity. The latch isn't very strong inside the handle so you have to push it when its closed to make sure it "clicks" into place, otherwise it slips open and the door rolls.

This creates the illusion the door is opening by itself, if it was improperly shut it can even sound like the handle is opening. I am wondering if the OP is describing a similar scenario.

The doors in my house would randomly move sometimes, but I think we figured out that is just the air currents with force physics scientifically air mass kind of thing, but my family also thinks we have a spirit of a doggy in our house but he/she is very friendly :)
