Authentication Failed Gives out an IP Address?

Doing a DDoS requires hundreds of computers, a botnet. This is illigal and not exactly easy to obtain. There is no risk in giving out your IP address.

I think you need to have a program running that is listening for requests and sending out large amounts of data

Actually it only requires 2 computers, but 1 computer could even be enough to get the job. The amount of computers is irrelevant if they're in the same network.
