It's not griefing because you're playing on a faction server.
The whole point of factions is griefing.
This is brown townogically equivalent to complaining about someone capturing your king in a game of Chess.

Other than, "SeventhSandwich griefed my base and won our war, so I'm going to not tell him the IP to eliminate any competition for my team" I can't find any alternative meaning. Care to explain?

Last time I checked, gving you the IP would be like telling you how to checkmate my king. You can probably find it somewhere, by yourself.

No, refusing to give me the IP wouldn't be like telling me how to checkmate your king. It would be like telling me I can't play and saying you win by default.
