Author Topic: If someone has your IP they can't do anything right?  (Read 1699 times)

I checked my IP online. It showed my location. But not my actual location. It was around several kilometers off.

Also my IP appears to be static while my router says all IPS are dynamic...

they can melt your hard-drive by ddosing your power supply.

Wait a minute. I have DHCP server enabled but Dynamic Routing is automatically disabled and won't let me enable it in my router settings...

OH I see.

If I disable NAT it will let me enable Dynamic Routing.

But if I enable NAT it won't let me enable Dynamic Routing.

What is NAT? It was checked ever since we had the router.

Can I disable it and enable Dynamic Routing to have dynamic IPS? Im confused.

then it is too late.

your computer has already been infiltrated by pirate viruses. might as well return it for full warranty now before it loving explodes.

^ ignore this

no there's not much you can really do with someone's IP as far as i know

they can melt your hard-drive by ddosing your power supply.
only if they've got a ram sapper under their firewall

Ok I did some research. Apparently unless our Internet provider gave us multiple IPS I cannot disable it otherwise only 1 computer will be able to access the internet at a time. They only gave us one IP address.   :panda:

So I am unable to have dynamic IPS  :panda:

Oh wait our router does have dynamic IPS enabled...

God I want to facepalm at my stupidity.

Anyway stop with the hacker jokes guys. I'm aware that people can't do jack stuff with your IP.

Then why ask the question in the subject?

People can DDOS which is distributed denial of service which is basically sending alot of packets to your router and blocks off your service due to overflow. Its almost like when you type in ping google.com in on your CMD but x10000. So yes, they can do something with your IP.

You can easily stop a DDOS.

Change your mac address.
