As far as ping goes, do this if you're having unbearable lag:
winkey+R
cmd
ping silverbeach.cc
The last line should say something like "Minimum = 29ms, Maximum = 33ms, Average = 31ms"
Post your average. That's mine, I'm getting no lag, and I'm 500 miles from the place the server is hosted.
