NFS Hot Pursuit has a decent free drive mode. IMO it's not fun unless you're driving the top car though lol. No customization though other than paint. |

Burnout Paradise all the way. Hardly any customization, but you can paint and pick your cars, and has the best free roam driving EVER. |
