Make a zone around the spawn in the arena that sets your playertype back, so even those who spawn with invincibility can't leave the spawn without it changing back.

I'm not saying who because I don't want to accuse someone of something when there is no proof other than unlikely playing skills, which aren't impossible to acquire really, but are just quite odd to witness.

Also I wonder if I should invest my time in coming up with a random trench war terrain for blockland... hm..
