PRAISE THE LORD! UBISOFT GIVES UP ON DRM!
Sanny:
Implying that you've ever even noticed about DRM at all.
Seriously DRM or not no one's going to be stopped from pirating games, end of.
Unless you got like 15 pc's, dude.

Seriously. The only "DRM" steam has is needing the steam client open, which is by no means a bad thing. You don't even need to be connected to the internet.

That's why I can't start my games when a huge patch goes out or a new huge game comes out? (Even if they are paused)

Steam Offline mode is weird and doesn't always work.
I find if I haven't opened up Steam before my internet goes out (If I boot my computer up after my internet has gone out.) it doesn't work.
Even then though what I'm pointing out is the fact that even a slight DRM causes a lot of people to go "KELP IMMA PRIVATEN THAT" even if they won't ever have a problem with it, then they will proceed to turn around and use Steam.
