Author Topic: Freek has Exploding Head Syndrome - No Cure  (Read 5370 times)

It is really scary and I wanted to share with you guys.

What it is:
Quote
Exploding head syndrome is a form of hypnagogic auditory hallucination in which the sufferer sometimes experiences a sudden loud noise coming from within their own head.
How it happens:
Quote
This noise usually happens at the onset of sleep or within an hour or two of falling asleep, but is not necessarily the result of a dream. Although the sound is perceived as extremely loud, it is usually not accompanied by pain. Attacks appear to change in number over time, with several attacks happening in a space of days or weeks, followed by months of remission. Sufferers often feel a sense of fear and anxiety after an attack, accompanied by elevated heart rate. Attacks may also be accompanied by perceived flashes of light (when perceived on their own, known as a "visual sleep start") or difficulty in breathing.
Treatment:
Quote
There is no known treatment.

What's strange is that everything starts going static in the dream, like in the Slender game, but this has been happening for 2-3 years now.

try Google, maybe somebody is experiencing something similar :o

lol

lol
it feels like any sort of mind-targeted attack from a game i guess
also id like to note that when it happens my head gets that feeling that you get when you hit your head really hard on something
i should probably be looking into this huh

I know this feel, haven't had it for a while, but still. I'd just be a few seconds from sleeping and I knew it, until BOOP. Then I wake up.

Solution: When going to sleep, just relax and don't think about much. The problem is, you think you're dreaming, but you're awake. So your body's like, "stuff son, wake up you ain't dreaming." So in a sense, you were lucid dreaming.
