Plasma weapons are overrated.

Vibra-weapons all the way.

how would carrot launchers work in this situation, exactly

we'll give the guards and cultists the gift of pleasure in exchange for the artifact
they'll thank us later

It's simple, really.

We go after Tom, shoot a couple of carrot bullets in his butt. Take the artifact while he's crying his ass off (literally).

Easy come easy go

Cutting stuff with Conan and his obession with plasma
Dad: "Happy brith day Timmy. I will cut your cake now with this metal blade."
Conan: "No I will cut Timmy's cake with this plasma torch."
*cake frosting melts off the cake and the sugar crystalizes*
hey man
if your cake was made out of the armor eldritchs wear i think it wouldn't be that bad.

as for tom just ditch him unless you can somehow make him unconscious and safe to transport back to the ship

Abduct Tom, unlock the secrets of the cube we must.

Guarded path
Guards.

You take the guarded path and Tyrell gives you directions. Along the way, you encounter a section of ceiling which has collapsed. As you approach, several cultists appear at the top. The three with guns take aim while the armored one with the sword simply charges at you.

There is enough cover for you for about 2-4 people. The cultists, apparently confident, have no cover, but instead have higher ground.
Also let's say Ulris has his shield out because I forgot about that.

Use cover in Colonial America style positions. Tall guys in the back, everyone else down behind the cover.

Shoot their brains out

Ulris and Captain: Get in a defensive stance in case the swordsman actually does make it to you. Fire on the guys with guns.
Squishy: Shoot the farthest gut that's holding some kinda smg.
Everyone else: Open fire on gunmen

Ulris: Charge with shield at the swordsman. Fire with pistol until you get to him, then drop it and use your sword.

Captain: Shoot guy with assault rifle; that's probably the most dangerous thing the enemies are holding right now. Take cover.

Bronson: Spam shotgun shells at the enemy group. Take cover.

Jenn: Snipe the guy with the smg/machine pistol thing at the back. Take cover.

Big Red: Shoot the pistol guy (the guy in the group of three that's in front of the other two), or anyone else left alive. If we brought the heavy bolter take that out now.

Squishy: Snipe assault rifle guy. Take cover.

Big Red plasma blast the armoured guy, squishy and Jenn snipe the guy with the gun and sword, Jack open fire on on the guys with guns, Captain and Ulris just shoot stuff until it's the assault phase.

Wait, the guy in the back of the cultist group has something on his back!  Could be a shield, so you might wanna concentrate sniper points on that guy before he has the chance to draw it.

felt like contributing a character since this adventure is cool

Harv "Mouth"

Few know much about his background, but from what most say, he was once a shopkeeper whom nobody messed around with. His introvert nature and engineering background led him to tinker with electronics, and he could often be found in his shop piecing together something new. He lost his shop in an Eldritch attack on his colony, and managed to survive alone, in his basement, until the Iconians cleared them out. The noxious gases he breathed in from his work while underground degraded his vocal cords, forcing him to wear an improvised mask to communicate, which he rarely does. Since his rescue, he has always worn a pair of chestplates and an arm shield, material unknown, as they have saved his life countless times during his stay underground.

Although he doesn't prefer direct combat, he can wield a bolt gun at close range very effectively. He normally leaves killing to his machines, which include a stationary turret, a spider walker, a sat-dish communicator, and a compact dual-barrel UGV. His carrying case only carries enough parts for one of these machines at a time; however, he can deconstruct his creations and rebuild them into something else.
