How so?
They're more or less testing the patience of their customers. Are they loyal enough to buy a new charger separate from ALL their other iOS devices?

How so?

It's "more durable", and 80% smaller than it already was. It's "easier to use", and you have to buy an adapter to use the old port. It's "adaptive", and does the same thing as the old one.

Funny enough, Apple will be selling the old adapter plugs for this new one. I$n't that funny.

You don't need to buy it you get it free with the phone, or you adapt your other ones. I don't see the problem.

If you're like me, you have to keep buying spare cords. And I know they aren't cheap with chargers.

how the forget would games work on the iphone 5

will it like

stretch the screen or will it give it ugly black bars

also do you think the metal on the back of that is really metal, we're talking about apple here, where you need to break your iphone twice a week

Apple is going to need to do something revolutionary soon, or they're going to lose their market.

if they re-released the iphone 4S as "iphone 6" people would buy it

I've used the same Apple cable for 5 years, normal consumers don't destroy/take apart technology for no reason. There is no problem at all with the new cable.

It's not a better product. It's a business model.

i don't see what you're trying to get at here, are you trying to tell everyone to not buy the iphone 5? because people can do what they want if they're stuff stays inside the boundries of laws :/

I know they can. All I'm saying is that Apple is wasting their time. Keep in mind, iPod Touches will be impacted as well. So if you're at your friends house and want to charge your iPod or iPhone, you have to go to Apple and pay more money for the tiny adapter head.

or you can just borrow your friends?

Let me try to explain this better:
You have an iPhone 5. Your friend has iPhone 4S. You want to charge your iPhone, but didn't bring your charger.  Not a problem, because Apple uses a universal charger, right? You're screwed. Isn't it supposed to be "easier"?

And because it was such a hassle to use the same charger, Apple didn't throw in the adapter bit. So now, if you really need it, you can buy it from your local Apple Store for around 30$.

Clearly the whole product is flawed because of the cable, good logic.

Pros:
-Slightly Wider Screen
-25 more hours on Stand By
-Supports 4G
-Nicer Camera

Cons:
-Charger Screwed
-No Real Design Innovations
-Aluminum Casing (shorts some products such as Square) - I'm iffy on this.
