now you're just acting stupid. why don't you accept who ridiculously wrong you are?

now you're just acting stupid. why don't you accept who ridiculously wrong you are?
...because it's completely subjective?

who i think are the most important figures in gaming are completely different than yours. opinions are funny things!

You're still acting stupid. I could make one of your idiotic brown townogies; "my opinion is that trees are blue!"

I wouldn't want those people to buy it, though. I'd rather have properly informed people who are interested in gaming buying it.
You're stereotyping a bit here.
Just because someone likes comedic game reviewers (Let's Plays are a form of review) doesn't mean they're not "interested in gaming" nor that they're idiotic.

I also personally don't care if childish people find out about, purchase, play and enjoy Blockland.
It's a bloody block-building Lego-Style game, that is always going to entertain children of young ages and teenagers. If they're not mature, that's not something we can change.
I still welcome their purchase of the game which helps further the development of Blockland, and I welcome their entertainment with the game.

I think trying to build a secular community is a stupid and pointless task.
Not only does it completely negate the entire point of trying to get Blockland on Steam, but it also slows down development.
IMO, suggesting that we avoid advertising to large audiences of people likely to show interest in the game, is exactly the same as saying that you
want Blockland to stay as a "small community"... thereby making the community smaller and better.
Which isn't something we, nor Badspot want.

Even if you just get TotalBiscuit to review us, you'll get an equal ratio of idiots/immature people to those you claim to be better due to their "interest in gaming".

Also, what does an "interest in gaming" even mean?
I don't see how being interested in games should be more important than playing and enjoying games.
I don't really care if someone who is interested in games likes the looks of Blockland. Not if they're not gamers or likely to play it.
"interest in gaming" would cover everyone who at the slightest bit is interested in gaming. Someone who looks for all the new Facebook games is interested in gaming. Someone who collects every single copy of a certain game-related magazine is interested in gaming. Someone who gets given a random videogame at Christmas and wants to play it is interested in gaming.
Being interested in gaming in all those situations does not mean you have to know who TotalBiscuit is.

"I'm interested in England, but I don't know who the queen is"

yeah okay whatever
An unfair brown townogy.
The Queen of England, the head of state and Monarch of England, is a physical part of England.

TotalBiscuit is not the supreme head or an unignorable part of gaming.

It is pure opinion to say that he is the most important figure in gaming. Anyone who has never heard of him, but has heard of equally prominent people in gaming communities (or people who make games), can say that the people they know of are the most important figures. Therefore choosing who is most important is an opinion and not a fact.

Eitherway, this entire argument is just bloating this topic.

We should be grateful to get reviewed by any big game-reviewer, especially if they have a large fan base, and especially if they review us justly and well.

i wouldn't mind seananners reviewing us, he's alright.

to me he's not one of the most important figures in gaming. different people value different things - we aren't talking in absolutes. pretty simple man

However it's mostly probably true. the stereotypes exist for a reason. (let's plays are not necessarily a form of review)

I also personally don't care if childish people find out about, purchase, play and enjoy Blockland.

There are a lot of 12 year olds playing Blockland. More 12 year olds won't make me more interested in playing with them. My goal would be fun, not money. Quality before quantity. It's my opinion and I intend to keep it.

Even if you just get TotalBiscuit to review us, you'll get an equal ratio of idiots/immature people to those you claim to be better due to their "interest in gaming".
if you say so? I guess you know the measurable statistics!

Also, what does an "interest in gaming" even mean?

When I said "interested in gaming" I meant that you're into games, reviews of games, quality of games, thoughts behind games, etc. I call that interested in gaming.
Anyway, being interested in gaming, (yes, in that way) is important if you're trying to get people to play a game. or you could just hand it to pewdiepie. I'm sure you'll have fun with pewdiepie's subscribers in a FTL roleplay.

He's an unignorable part of gaming if you're interested in gaming. (I mean interested in gaming in that specific way)

It is pure opinion to say that he is the most important figure in gaming.
good thing nobody said that.

Anyone who has never heard of him, but has heard of equally prominent people in gaming communities (or people who make games), can say that the people they know of are the most important figures. Therefore choosing who is most important is an opinion and not a fact.
I could claim that anyone is important or not important.
TotalBiscuit, however, is very important. Whenever he's at an event, he barely gets to meet friends or anything because he's fully booked the entire time. It's not a matter of opinion wether he's everywhere you look or not.

Eitherway, this entire argument is just bloating this topic.
Good thing you posted six dragonborn word walls to make sure it stopped, then!

Hypocrite. Hypocrite. Hypocrite.

We should be grateful to get reviewed by any big game-reviewer, especially if they have a large fan base, and especially if they review us justly and well.
That's my point...

...it's still an opinion

to me he's not one of the most important figures in gaming. different people value different things - we aren't talking in absolutes. pretty simple man
saying trees are blue is still also an opinion. doesn't mean there's any basis for it. I explained my definition of "interested in gaming" in this post.

It's a bloody block-building Lego-Style game

Well I'm more into the plastic...but uh...
Sure whatever floats your boat. That's cool man. Right on. Livin' the dream.

apparently nymethus can't distinguish between absolutes, facts and opinions

yikes

Hey guys
Instead of arguing about a subjective topic, let's argue about how awesome blockland is and how long it will take to be greenlit.

Pewdiepie  :cookieMonster:
forget that bitch, he only cares about the money he gets from the amount of viewers, he said he doesn't give a stuff about fans.

I know but he screams like a bitch and that's all that matters when you LP

Nah just kidding. We need someone to review blockland servers like what AVGN does.

AVGN doesn't play New Games though.
Well not in the series of AVGN but maybe in one of his non AVGN related videos.

I think Blockland needs some new ads on Google.
There is only one and I haven't seen it in a while.
