Minecraft itself was a spin-off, also this game is pretty good and came out before the Minecraft app did so it was a good space filler.

the game honestly looks like crap, the 2d version looks even worse. the 2d version isnt even that similar to minecraft. junk jack came out before the mc app and was far better.

That game has been out for a long time. I have it and it was a good substitute before Minecraft pocket edition came out.
