what kind of specs does a computer for a dedicated blockland server need?

Wouldn't recommend a laptop for dedicated hosting.

The biggest concern for you will be the processor speed. I can host up to 28 players on a single core 2.8 ghz processor, so anything above 1.6 ghz should work fine.

How do you guys manage so much CPU?

I've had 128 players not use an entire 2.3GHz core

The computer only has 1 core, so all of the load is on that single core. Yours has something like 4 cores, so the load is distributed.
Also it was a CPU intensive gamemode.
