I wouldn't buy it if it could only run steam games and a browser. What about my non-steam games that I play? Other programs such as recording, messaging, and streaming, dropbox?

this is basically why this won't happen
it's also why there's really just 2 major operating systems

Ok spend a couple thousand for a gaming laptop so you can do whatever the hell you want, or you can buy just a (guessing about 300 bucks) on a laptop that just runs steam.
