Author Topic: Is anyone here against the legalization of marijuana?  (Read 6725 times)

Because, I mean, the last thing we want to do is legalize marijuana and completely obsolve the country of any debt
Legalizing marijuana wouldn't do diddly squat anything to the U.S.'s debt.

Do you know of this multibillion dollar program called the drug war that would have one less thing to burn cash on?

That would not clear out our debt. He made that point up off the topic of his head.

No, please explain to me what this is and how it will affect the U.S.'s debt.

Colten I would like you to proceed to stop using your computer because that is a source of entertainment and you're most likely trying to fix your problems with it.

Such an intelligent post ruined by the last sentence.

Im not likely to fix my problems using the computer, and I didnt bring up entertainment at all in that post...

People using drugs or alcohol (which I shouldnt have to specify on its own considering it is a drug but I dont want people bringing up "well alcohol is legal" arguments) to fix (more like ignore) their problems is dumb. Drinking is fine as a form as entertainment and Ive never smoked but Im sure that is also.

In a perfect world all non-medicinal drugs as well as alcohol would be illegal and people would stop trying to fix their problems through substances and would instead realize theyre responsible for ruining their own life, but we dont live in a perfect world.
That's... not really a perfect world at all. That world must have a very controlling government to revoke such freedoms from it's citizens. Not everyone drinks to forget their problems, or fix them. People like to do it casually. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a glass of beer or two, or smoking a joint of weed. There is a difference between casual use and abusing the drug. It's illogical to blame an inanimate object when a human being uses it improperly. It's not alcohol's fault some deadbeat would rather drink himself under to forget his day, it's his own fault for not finding better, non-addictive sources to provide that same relief.

Blame the addicts and try to help them reform, not the drug.

In a perfect would though we wouldnt need them as forms of entertainment because we would all be beautiful and rich

@Dusty
This is kind of what I was wanting to imply but I'm just too stupid to word my posts without sarcasm.

Also incorrect. In a perfect world, everyone would look almost the same and have the same amount of wealth.

So there would be no beautiful and ugly and there would be no rich and poor.

Yeqh rich; qnd zed qll be bequtiful

Woahhhh wtf, my keyboard randomly switched to French. "Yeah rich, and we would all be beautiful"
Also if we were all the same there would be little to no genetic variation and some disease would kill us all, not perfect.

MAYBE A PERFECT WORLD CANT EXIST

In a perfect world we would all have giant roosters protruding from our foreheads.

Can we stop discussing a perfect world now?

Back on topic. The legalization of marijuana (as said before) would have almost no affect on the U.S's debt.

i am neutral on the legalization of it.

they should at least have marijuana zones, if you have been seen smoking it out of the zone, you's gunna get in troublee

They are hypocrites for not legalizing it imo. I mean tobacco and nicotine is addictive and extremely harmful but it is legal, and the reason is pretty much MONEY. Thank goodness there are things being done to stop smoking of course. I am curious on what the best solution would be though. Make it legal and put an excise tax on it? In the end I think I am neutral on the subject.
