Have you played American Nightmare?

I loved the first one, and I plan to buy it again for my PC since I no longer have my Xbox. But I'm wondering about American Nightmare. In the sense that Alan Wake is Season 1, I've heard American Nightmare is a sort of "movie special" in comparison. I'm still waiting for the sequel, so I'm wondering if I should get this in the meantime.

I finished the first Alan Wake. The story was amazing, however I'm not sure if I want to start American nightmare because I heard it was sort of a separate storyline.

From what I understand American Nightmare deals with Mr. Scratch; in his world or something like that.
