the updates after the initial shader update WERE fps optimisations.

You can't just break open an iphone and replace parts(afaik)
That's probably why they release new ones

they did change the version number, and there have been BL updates consisting of only bug fixes that changed the version number when the format was "v__"

Meh, I have the 4S but I don't think I will be upgrading to the 5 any time soon.  I am waiting for Apple to release something that is truly "revolutionary" it hasn't happened in a while, but when it does it will be quite interesting.  Also, with my 4S I can pretty much do the same things as the 5 (seeing as I have iOS 6).  The five although does have a higher resolution camera, and longer charge.  But I'm not so worried about the charge or camera.  The camera is HD enough for me and the charge lasts all day for me. 

Although, congratulations anyway!
