The moderator's job is to set a basic structure to the debate so they don't stand there awkwardly (not knowing what to talk about)/ or get really off track and just start putting the other delegate down

They can give the bigger questions and they keep track of time.

I liked that he did it.  He was taking charge of the debate.  The moderator has also been known in the past to let the delegates run it as much as they can/ want

don't get me wrong, i think jim was overly strict, but that hardly gives romney a right to be flat out rude and cut the guy off repeatedly throughout the debate. that's just flat out bad manners.

yes, but you'll note he didn't bring these up. in fact, it felt like he brought nothing up, and instead everything was brought up either by obama and the moderator.

There were clocks but you did notice how (using Obama as an example, "I had 5 seconds left until you interrupted me" and then talks for about 30 more seconds) they kept on talking after their time was up.

Read the transcript or watch the debate again.  To me Obama seemed VERY rude when he made his "joke" about his time being up.  And Romney talked about a lot of other things than jobs, but his main objective is to get Americans back to work.

Irregardless, you are okay when Romney cuts off jim almost every time he didn't have the last word, but you're not when Obama does? Besides, Obama only did that once (twice?), whereas Romney cut off Jim more than 6 or so times. That math doesn't add up.

I think Obama's wont work because he's had 4 years of "trying" and I see no results.
