Author Topic: How does your town indicate its noon?  (Read 3629 times)

My watch beeps every hour, so I guess that counts. Don't think the town does anything, though.

Playing electroswing on really loud megaphones that can be heard throughout town (It's a small town.)

actually nothing, but that'd be pretty cool

ALL the churches ding their bells 12 times, and there's 3 in one neighborhood, my condolences to the local's eardrums.

So you guys don't have anything to indicate its noon?
Well then...

Oh, well I have this thing called a clock, it's a pretty neat device

maize... UUUUUGH

Not all people have watches so some towns have a way of saying "hey its noon" and in my town there isn't many people with one and if you're walking chances of running into someone with the time is slim.

I've literally never heard of anything like that in today's modern society

except for like, churches.

My towns not very modern.

I know this is true, but it still makes me cry. Watches are the best thing since sliced bread. Actually, they may have come first. The point is, watches are great.

Our town crashes a Dodge Charger through a brick wall every monday and Friday, pretty normal town huh?
(Lies lies lies!)

A lot of people can't really get a watch. I have one I just don't use it since the strap broke.

There is a fence nearby me that gets hit with a car every 2 months. The owner of the farm told me.

I think it's just like a "hey it's not really necessary anymore because everyone has a clock these days but let's do it anyways just because we can" type thing (can't think of a good word for it)

If you go outside in my city at noon and go somewhere where there isn't a lot of noise (like traffic) you can just barely hear a bell, i don't know where it's from though.

It's traditional. Pretty sure that's the word you mean.
