Author Topic: Anyone a Boy Scout?  (Read 2549 times)

Are you all sure about the no gays allowed thing? Is that for scouts, too, or just the adults? 'Cause I've heard two stories of gay guys getting together while in Boy scouts.
On that note, brb joining Boy scouts.

Stop trying to dig yourself deeper into the closet!
Oh wait I get what you're saying

I'd get the raping badge.

You mean where they shun you if you're gay?

I was for a while, but then I didn't care anymore.

I helped my friend with his eagle project a couple days ago.

Everytime I try to take a step out of the closet, I go in five more. :(
Yeah, lol.

I'd avoid joining on the principle that they discriminate against gays and atheists.

It's more of a "don't rub it in our faces and we won't care" sort of policy

I got molested by Alec Baldwin

If they tolerate rubbing theism and straightness in their face, it's still discrimination. :V

I'm thinking something got slightly garbled up between what you intended to say and what came out.
And in my 9 years of scouting I have never had an experience I could call "rubbing theism and straightness in anyone's face"

Yes it is technically discrimination, but they won't care unless you are obnoxious about it.
They don't want to know about it, and if you want to be in scouts then it's pretty clear what to do.
I had a thread about it here: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=191373.0

No, what I said makes sense to me.
Yeah, I was mostly kidding about wanting to be a scout. I was one for a few years, well, Cub scout, close enough. Not my thing. I love the outdoors, but I love it for the chaos and freedom. I dunno if it's all like that, but my one year as a boyscout was too restrained.

I used to be a Girl Scout but now I'm thinking about joining an adventuring club
