Only reason is laziness (not saying that's a bad reason). And, regarding what Marcem said, add a big sticker or something saying "GAMEPAD REQUIRED FOR OPERATION".

or you could use telekinesis.

your point is stupid. you cant use an xbox without a controller. if you would have said what if they only had a guitar hero controller then youd make sense.
LeetZero:
PS3 stole from Wii, XBOX is all over Kinect which is also an Wii interpretation. Also Microsoft is all over "KINECT KINECT KINECT" now.
PC and Wii masterrace.

And for anyone who says PS3/XBox360 costs less than a good PC:
A game for either console platforms cost twice as much as a game for the PC. At least in my country.
And the consoles have octo the less usability you can have with a PC.
If you want you can just put the XBox or PS3 controller connected to PC and it's still better.

Console exclusive games are regarded, considering PC has exclusive games too, and if you think about it, hundred thousands of them: Online Flash games; Shockwave games; (Software); Indie Games. And even the cross-platform games, even if they are ported horrible to the PC, they still work and look better than on console.

A whole book can be made with an argument why a PC is better than consoles.
