That doesn't have the same effect as the dart gun in F3. Also if you don't manage to kill Deathclaws with the ratslayer until they are in close combat range you are dead - especially in hardcore mode.
Try to kill the Legendary Deathclaw without stealth boys and only with the ratslayer.
If you would have F3's handicapped dart gun then that would be hilariously easy.

i was just sayin deathclaws aren't that bad when you have armor piercing ammo
i'm not disagreeing with you, i remember getting the dart gun, best weapon in that game :P

The dart gun is one of many reasons why I don't like F3 and prefer Fallout NV

I personally like Fallout 3 because I can literally kill everybody in Megaton in less that 2 minutes on level 14, on Normal mode.
But besides that, yeah, it pretty much sucks compared to New Vegas and the other Fallout games.

all you have to do is jump up a mountain at the opening until you're unreachable
