Split-screen is being fazed out in modern gaming for whatever reason. It's sad too because I love having my friends over and kicking ass.

Split screen was awesome back in the day but it isn't proper for newer and more demanding games.

Exactly. You're having to render the scene twice. Part of the reason some effects and stuff are missing when you do split-screen on Left 4 Dead, it's for performance sake.

looks like Valve is trying hard to bring it back though. Especially with them bringing it to the PC version of Portal 2 now.

Yeah. Maybe sometime in the future this can be implemented again in most games and not be so costly.
