All Wikis allow different things for user pages, the Team Fortress 2 Wiki, for example, has many customized user pages with different customizations

This pretty much sums it up. Incorrectly namespaced pages will be moved on sight.

Actually this one has been running for a few months (although it's been a bit quiet lately), without any major vandalism (although we've, of course, had our share of spambots (big surprise incoming - MediaWiki sucks pretty bad too)).

This is a (by me) self-hosted Wiki. Wikia is a Wiki farm running on a heavily modified version of MediaWiki (which is the software we use too).
